Matcha (Culinary)
Matcha is a green tea processed as a fine powder made from green tea leaves (Camellia Sinensis), originating from China. Yet, it has been part of Japanese culture for over 800 years.
Matcha plays a leading role in the Japanese tea ceremony, where it is served along with a confectionary sweetm known as wagashi. The differnce of this green tea is it's preparation. Matcha powder is actually whisked into hot water and consumed, meaning that the tea leaves are directly consumed.
